I'm tired of settling for the lesser of two evils. I'm tired of wasting a vote on some no-name 3rd party candidate because I don't want to vote for either of the main guys. I'll vote for local officials in 2012, but I will abstain from voting for the office of President barring something totally unexpected. None of these sumbitches are worth my vote.

I agree, it's not my preference. It just is what it is. Every Candidate has some viable qualities. But a real "Presidential" POTUS candidate...Yeah, haven't seen one yet.

Dig it, but if you're a voter from the northeast, it's a foregone conclusion.

Me, too. It's exhausting.

I agree, but the electoral college is horseshit to me. 1 man, 1 vote, IMO. But that shit will never change.

Hands down, the best candidate on the GOP side is loathed by his own party (Paul). Everyone else up there, with the exception of Gingrich, is gunning for a job FAR ABOVE his or her pay grade. Romney's the author of the health care reform that's quickly bankrupting our government here in MA; Perry, in addition to being a pointy-headed dolt, is Al Gore's former Texas campaign chair; Bachmann is so crazy she makes Palin seem sane in comparison; Cain is a one trick pony; Santorum is a petulant fart; Huntsman - wait, who?

Obama's just kicking back going heh heh heh . . . this is the best they've got?

Alas, it's one of the few remaining vestiges of federalism left in our system of government. The direct election of the US president would instantly render meaningless a nationwide campaign. Candidates would stick to the biggest cities and never move beyond them. That's why, say, Patrick can lose virtually everywhere in the Commonwealth except for Boston, Fall River, Lawrence, and the Happy Valley, and still win the corner office.

Agree with you about Ron Paul. I'm doing some phone work for his campaign.

Ron Paul's campaign caused some mischief via Twitter this evening, tweeting at Jon Huntsman's official account around 8:45 ET, "we found your one Iowa voter, he's in Linn precinct 5 you might want to call him and say thanks."
