Pouliot is a low-risk, high potential reward for a one-year, $1.1M deal. Cheap $ for a bottom six guy (and a tremendous bargain if he were ever able to play on #2 line). Guy was a #4 overall pick just a few years ago. Plus, playoff scratch may have given him burr in his saddle where he wants to rub MON's face in it now. And Bs did great job turning a former 1st rounder into arguably the best PKer of the playoffs (Paille).
The longer Kaberle goes unsigned, the better chance he comes back for hometown discount. He's made plenty of dough and might want stay here for good chance at Cup #2. Also, PC is more likely to take him for $3-3.5M if only to justify high cost of getting him.
Bs fans should be happy PC hasn't taken a splash into the crazy pool with the rest of the GMs.
