Stick to elliptical or the bike. On the bike, keep the seat a few pegs lower than normal for your height. Better burn and use of the quad.

O yeah, look into get a wood wedge for the stretching. Simple and yet helps a great deal.

I fucked my right knee up something fierce yesterday. Had to cut a good workout short. Shit still hurts but I think the tendon is still intact. Not enough stretching, and probably a bruise under the knee cap.

My new diet/change in eating habits is fucking miserable. Had 7 oz. of Non-Fat plain greek yogurt with 7 ounces of fresh blueberries for breakfast. Was starving an hour later.

Had an applue with "organic" peanut butter about an hour ago. Still fucking hungry.

Also, I hadn't had red meat in about 10 days and I had a burger on monday. Felt like i'm on the verge of puking ever since.

Bluc my suggestion to you is to just do an Atkins type diet. You dont have to worry that much about portion control and you can eat meat all the time. I have lost 30 ish pounds a few times doing it. Once you stop eating bad carbs, it curtails your appetite.

The red meat thing isn't part of my "diet", that's just how it played out. The atkins is just no carbs, right? Mine is supposed to cut out/severly limit the amount of sugar intake. I'm supposed to eat 3 meals a day, but I'm stretching it to 5 smaller meals (especially on gym days), because it's not working, otherwise.

My Options are...
BREAKFAST
- 6-7 oz. of non-fat plain yogurt, 6 oz. of fruit (fresh, or canned in water)
- 2 eggs, 1 piece of fruit
- 1-2 oz. of oatmeal, 1 piece of fruit

LUNCH/DINNER
- 6 oz. of salad
- 6 oz. of protein
- 6 oz. of vegetables (except corn because apparently it's not good for you)


I can tell I've lost a smidgen of weight, but this doesn't take into account that my body shuts down after a good workout. I don't really miss bread, but this just isn't doing to job. Might try drinking more water.

Eat egg white omelettes for breakfast and a salad with a protein for lunch, and a protein with veg for dinner. throw in some protein shakes pre and post workout and I assure u, you will drop lbs

wow.....

you know as well as I that 3 meals that size will hurt your metabolism more than help it....

just stuff your pie hole with tons of chicken or tuna in between those "meals"

you need some carbs for workout/post workout

and agreed on cutting out the sugar...best thing you can do

@ Spencer - Egg whites give me the worse farts ever experienced by man. I used to do egg beaters, and the gaseous fumes weren't as bad. I actually enjoy the yogurt/fruit combo because it gives me some energy and it tastes decent, but really it's the weighing my meals that's killing me. The diet has worked wonders for my mother. And some dude in her program dropped about 100 lbs in 6 months on it. Granted he lived a pretty sedentary life and was >450 so it wasn't a real shock.

I'll give the protein shakes a shot, though.

@Slick - Hardest thing to do is cut out the sugar. Shit is in everything, hence why I rarely eat out or order takeout anymore. That HFCS is a bitch too.

And like I said, I've essentially made it 5 meals a day, and my salads are usually 10-12 oz. It's not as bad when I'm not hitting the gym regularly, but when I do it's brutal.

And I've had tuna (canned or steak cut, seared) literally everyday for the last 3 weeks. I'm pretty much tired of it. Might pick up some chicken breasts tonight at the G. Goose.

You might have better luck with a Paleo type diet. I'll let you do your own research, but I half-assed it (just cut down on flour/sugar, ate more fatty red meat) and lost about 10 lbs of fat in a month while improving my strength. I've plateaued a bit since then but I haven't been putting in a ton of effort. If you were really motivated to adhere strictly to it (completely cut out sugar/flour, not drink beer, etc) you would probably have even better results.
