had a little free time so i went and played in the 150 deepstack tourny. Solid blind structure and started with 40k in chips. about 50 people entered....I min cashed when I check raised shoved with 2nd pair when I thought the guy was weak. He snapped called with 3rd pair, lol.....caught trips on the turn

Cash game was sick (awful, weak-tight and loose-passive)....I sat down next to a guy who had a "championship" ring on his finger from playing basketball at Bridgewater St., HAHAHA....one hand in he admitted to me he was a "maniac at the table" and after seeing him play a few hands, he wasn't lying.

about 10 hands in im in the BB with K's....folds to the maniac in the SB who makes it 15. I smooth call trying to get tricky and a K comes on the flop and a dry board. He leads 20 I raise to 50 to make it look like im making a play he shoves and I snap call, he turns over 2-3 off....ship it

another 10 hands or so in the maniac has since rebought and worked his stack up to about 300...3 limpers (including the maniac) I make it 15 with Jh 8d because im trying to get more action at the table, lol.....maniac only caller. Flop comes 9h 10h 2h. He bets 20 i smooth call. Turn comes 3h, he bets 40 I smooth ( i probably should have raised, but whatever). River comes Ah and he insta shoves for 194 . I think about "im a maniac comment" and the fact that his shove was just plain weak, and I call after about 10 seconds of thought. He didnt have a Heart and i took another monster from him...ship it!...played about another 45 minutes and left.

its nice when it works out that way.....If you have any type of poker skills and avoid the bad beats, stupid plays you could make a dollar or two at this place easily

word is when their permit runs out at the end of august, they are moving the room to another location down the road

got an email from Foxwoods they are doing one of those drawings where you pick an envelope that is filled with cash. i've done them a few times before...never won anything over $25.

usually they are $25 minimum but this one is $50. never seen $50 before. its next sunday from 3-7. its basically gas money plus a free $25 bet.

Turning Stone is having a series of tourneys sponsored by the Heartland Poker Tour with the $1650 main event this weekend. Yesterday I tried to get in for $82. Got through the first satellite, and needed to get through one more to make the main event. You needed to finish top 13 of 65 to advance to the weekend. 10K starting stack. With about 25 left I have 28K, blinds are 1k-2K with 200 antes. UTG has about 20k, raises to 6K. Everyone folds to me on the button, I go all in with AQ off, blinds fold, the other guy thinks for about a minute and goes all in to call me with 89, can't remember if it was suited. He gets an 8 on the flop, I turn a Q, he rivers an 8. I'm crippled with only 8K left. Win that hand and I'm on cruise control. Same player gets the rest of my chips when his A8 beats my pocket tens 3 hands later. The blinds had just went up to 1.5K-3K and I was UTG. On a side note I saw Dennis Phillips playing at the next table over in the $560 tourney that was going on at the same time.
