A pretty good chunk of Palin's fanbase (myself included, not that I'm a huge Sarah Palin fan but I also don't think she's nearly as bad as the media makes her out to be) is supporting a brother for President in 2012.

Yeah, but it's Lugz.....I honestly can't tell if he's trying to say I'm a Nazi, Palin is a Nazi, both, or neither.

Me neither but it is internets protocol to invoke the law anytime the words Hitler or Nazi are mentioned.

The lady is and has been proven to be less than intelligent in so many, many, ways over the past few years. By both her words and her actions and yet you are still so conservatively closed minded as to type this "(myself included, not that I'm a huge Sarah Palin fan but I also don't think she's nearly as bad as the media makes her out to be)"

She is almost a complete idiot by every stretch of the words. The Nazi mention was that you are so brainwashed by the right wing shit you believe you cant see it. Just like normal everyday nice people who defended Hitler as being "Not as bad as everyone says he is".

And none of her image has anything at all to do with the media seeing her (correctly) as the weak link in McCain's armor and going after her full-stop to get their guy elected. How many people's image of Palin is based more on Tina Fey than on Palin herself??

It's very, very hard to get to anywhere near the top of the political food chain by being dumb (and that goes for people on both sides of the aisle).

As for me I'm very much in favor of legalizing weed and ending the "war on drugs", I'm against the death penalty in most cases, and I could give a flying shit one way or the other about gay marriage beyond wanting to stop hearing about it, so I'm hardly "conservatively closed minded".

NONE! The lady did it all herself with her own mouth.

One minute talking about death panels and the evils of Obama's socialist medical system and the next bragging she and her family used to hop the boarder to get Free care in Canada...which has a socialist medical system.

Or

Her use of the term "blood libel" to describe the shootuing in AZ, which alienated her from ever receiving a Jewish vote again.

Or

"But obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies." --Sarah Palin after being asked how she would handle the current hostilities between the two Koreas, interview on Glenn Beck's radio show, Nov. 24, 2010

Or

"'Refudiate,' 'misunderestimate,' 'wee-wee'd up.' English is a living language. Shakespeare liked to coin new words too. Got to celebrate it!'" --a Tweet sent by Sarah Palin in response to being ridiculed for inventing the word "refudiate," proudly mistaking her illiteracy for literary genius, July 18, 2010

I could go on but you cannot be swayed and live in a fairytale world of evil liberals and all American hero conservatives.

She was the weak link. I was open about how undecided I was until Palin was picked and I heard her speak a few times. McCain didn't help his case in the grand scheme of things, but being independent, picking Palin was a shallow move to sway voters and made his WH bid much weaker in the eyes of people who stop and think. It's just a fact.

Edit: Thought I read that but can't find the article so I'm probably wrong about it.

I've never seen anything Tina Fey has done so my opinion of Palin is based completely on the bullshit that comes out of her mouth. I even watched some of her reality show and that was horrible. BTW, when an aid rights a tell all book about how you were ready to check out as Governor months before you did so you can cash in, and that it was a struggle to get you to meetings...well you lose pretty much all clout to grandstand about politics.

PhillyandBCEagles wrote:It's very, very hard to get to anywhere near the top of the political food chain by being dumb (and that goes for people on both sides of the aisle).

A strong marketing and PR machine can catapult a lot of idiots into positions of power. Mainly because most Americans are dealing with their everyday lives and don't have access to the shit that goes on behind the closed door (on both sides of the aisle).

I agree with all of this except the "hardly" part. You blatantly defend "conservatives" and see nothing wrong with their stance, while taking shots and liberals. I don't solely affiliate myself with either because they're the same people, but every movement needs an enemy.
Whores til proven otherwise. And they so rarely do.

I hope you give her the ride of her life so maybe she'd just stay up there and not run for POTUS.

Well we already know its too late to fuck her brains out!

I was reading some of the things she has said, including some huge vocabulary mistakes when i was busting Philly on it earlier. Her and I would make one hell of a ticket for the illiterate.

Anyone who has a camera and microphone in front of their face 24/7 in the age of the internet and cable news is going to say dumb shit from time to time. 57 states, anyone??

I wasn't a huge fan of the Palin pick for VP mainly because she was inexperienced, but no more so at the time than Obama (and even setting ideology aside I figured we were better off with an inexperienced VP than an inexperienced President).

And for the record I voted for Obama in the '08 primary--McCain had the GOP nomination locked up well before it was PA's turn and while I disagreed with Obama on just about everything I thought he was at least a good guy who meant well (still do) and I preferred him over Hillary who is one of the most horrible people on the planet. In fact I'm still a registered Democrat and while I'll switch back to the GOP in time for the 2012 primary there are plenty of Democrats I like (Jim Webb, Joe Lieberman, Heath Shuler, Ed Rendell, even Obama is a good guy, I just think he was a horrible choice for President) and plenty of Republicans I can't stand (ROMNEY, Arlen Spector before he switched, that dbag from Illinois who was married to Jeri Ryan).
