Irony

How do you guys feel about a player who left town to win a title because he wasn't able to win on on his own? Turned his back on his team that he played with for a long time because the team around him wasn't good enough to win the title and he wasn't good enough to carry them to it.

GM kept trying to fill out a team around him but never got the right guys to do it.

No, its not Lebron I'm talking about.

Its #77.

After an entire career of giving the bruins a home town discount Jacobs took Bourque to arbitration. Thats all you need to know about this situation.

I love Bourque

Your body is only able to be used for pro sports for so long before the checks and the glory fade away. Ray Bourque took the money like everybody else. I don't view athletes as traitors. But for those who do, there are sports such as golf and tennis to watch where you just root for individuals and nobody betrays their team.

Ray Bourque didn't go to Colorado for money.

He shot his way out of town, demanded a trade, and went there because he couldn't get it done here.

He was basically a combination of Carmelo and Lebron.

The entire Bruins fan base was behind that trade.....BECAUSE HE PLAYED HARD EVERY SECOND OF EVERY GAME AND WAS THE CONSENSUS BEST AT HIS POSITION FOR OVER A DECADE AND TOOK THE SHIT END OF THE STICK MANY TIMES! Its a fucking team sport, and that management had huge issues building the right team. Worst thread ever even worse than this one viewtopic.php?f=25&t=28182

Oh I know Bruins fans were 100% behind the trade. Thats what makes it all the more pathetic.

That's why Red Sox legends will always be Red Sox legends...because they didn't shoot their way out of town to win a title after not being able to win it on their own.

That's why guys like Pedro, Manny, Schilling will always have a good place in this city because THEY CAME HERE to win a title. Not the other way around.

Tell me what the difference is between what Bourque did and what Carmelo and Lebron did. Cleveland and Denver wouldn't spend over the luxury tax, so the teams around them weren't good. Lebron and Carmelo were ripped to shreds for leaving.

Bourque's ownership wouldn't spend money on the team around him. So he forced a trade.

Same thing. Only the morons in this city don't get it.

for starters Lebron is in his prime and Bourqe was on the back nine. Leaving cleveland wasnt the problem it was how he went about it. Talk about an attention whore nice Job trolling.

1. Those two are in their primes
2. Those two teams had brought in many pieces in an effort to win:

Mo Williams, Oneal, Ilgauskas, Jamison, Gooden, Hughes

none of them worked out as well as they should have, but Cleveland was trying and would have continued

Denver had 4 good scorers including Carmelo last season, they were making a large effort to build something

3. Carmelo=endorsement driven move
LeBron=knows he isn't good enough to lift a team by himself after trying for a whole 6 seasons or so (Ray played 21) COWARD MOVE

getting traded with a quarter of the season left to a contender in a year that the bruins weren't sniffing the playoffs so he could have a shot at a cup after 20 years of service while taking under market value contracts for a franchise that he gave his heart and soul isn't quite the same thing.

The premise of this thread belongs in Crumple vs. Fold. If I could, I would use this thread to wipe my hairy ass. This thread is worse than Elpresidente's grammar on Twitter.
