guys like gus hansen, tom dwan, etc have million dollar swings in a DAY, so you can imagine the bankroll they have. A lot of players also have backers and split winnings with
its a risk/reward "profession" for sure, but if you have the patience, money management skills, etc.....some people make a go of it
my old roomie out in LV plays poker for a living.....his consensus was you should have at least 100 BB per game and 100 buy ins at all times in your "bankroll" just to manage against the swings of poker.
he plays 1-2 NL mostly online.....thats $200 x 100 = $20,000....just as a starting point, some people suggest 200 buy ins.
do the math on someone that plays 5-10 or 25-50....
