7,500 hires could signal upward swing for U.S. auto industry.
After years of dismal sales, bailouts, and layoffs, the budding recovery of the American automotive industry got a boost Monday when Ford Motor Company announced it will add 7,000 U.S. jobs over the next two years. Ford CEO Alan Mulally made new hiring plans public at a presentation kicking off the Detroit Auto Show. The new jobs are just the latest in a string of positive economic news from the company, which, unlike rivals Chrysler and General Motors, did not take government funds from the Obama administration. Last week Ford released annual sales figures that showed a 19 percent increase in full-year sales from 2009 and a 17 percent increase in retail sales. Ford has instituted a global product strategy that focuses on manufacturing “global cars,” according to George Magliano, director of automotive research for North America at IHS Global Insight. “It’s part and parcel of a much bigger strategy that Ford has employed,” Magliano said. “They've certainly revitalized their mid-sized car offerings starting with the Fusion, then they brought the Edge. Now they have the Focus and the Fiesta, they are global cars. It’s basically the same car throughout the world.”

Pretty sure you can turn in your Honda lease after the 1st year as long as you lease another Honda.

Depends on your residual number. With Honda's and Toyota's its possible...not many other brands. Run your payoff and compare it to the bottom number at kbb.com. If its close you can twist a dealers arm.
