Shamble = Texas Scramble

Everyone tees off and then moves their ball to the best tee shot. From that point you play your own balls (no homo) into the hole and everyone has an individual score. From there the two best ball score is obvious.

I play in two or three of these a year and they're a LOT more fun than a scramble for someone who plays regularly. Capt choice events are more for non-golfers to have a good time IMO.

Pussybar I played in one of these formats in a group behind a guy who was a PGA Tour journeyman at one time who used 15 of his tee shots and shot 61. Needless to say we didn't have a chance.

Shamble is the format I try to push when outside groups play on Mondays. Much faster and easier than 144 nitwits playing their own ball all around the course in 6 hours. Still get to play your own ball for the most part, but from (usually) the best player's tee shot.

Shamble is definitely a good idea, the rest of the format was stupid.

It was net best ball from the best tee ball. Full handicap was the stupid part. We had a team with a 6hdcp and 3 20+hdcps shoot 30 under . The old guys can chip and putt, and theyre getting a stroke or 2 per hole, when the only have 120 yds to the green.
