Lump sum...you're probably not losing anything with all the interest it's going to make.

Depends on what discount rate they use when calculating the present value. Or an easier answer is to take the lump sum since its almost 2012

it would be tough to make up 130 mil in interest. plus you wouldn't risk blowing it all within a few years (it would be hard to do, but still)

Unless you think you think you can't find a way to earn a greater rate of return then the government you better be taking the lump sum.

By the way, the PV of $300 mil using an 8% rate is about 40.5 million so its not really unheard of to make up that much interest
