If you just need it for surfing/music/pics, don't spend more than a nickel and plan on getting 3 or so years out of it.

I've had a Toshiba, a HP, and now on a Dell for two years.

Dell has been best, then HP, then Toshiba. A buddy had problems with his Toshiba too so I don't recommend them.

I can watch my laptop on bedroom TV with HDI wire but not on slightly older HDTV in the cave.

Suggestions?

EDIT: What wire/cord do I need to hook it up?

am I the only one with a Gateway? Got it free from work and no problems. I don't use it for anything other than internet / email though.

Don't know if this is legit or not, but I just ordered one for me. A PS3 for $40? Not bad if you can get it.

Of course the description below is a controller, but worth a shot. I'll return the controller.
