I don't think it resonates much with today's biggest moviegoers---teenage boys. And a lot older fans will wait a week or two rather than trek out into Hoth weather.

considering how much money Disney has spent promoting this thing, the number you cited would be considered an unmitigated disaster.

the advance buzz being as it is, I am not sure it will have legs in the coming weeks.

Also, this is the same weekend last year's Best Picture* winner was released.

wow. Bombs away.

The weekend's big question, however, is just how poorly Sony Pictures' "How Do You Know" will do. The costly adult comedy, directed by James L. Brooks and starring Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, Paul Rudd and Jack Nicholson, is generating very soft interest and will likely open to only about $10 million.

Tron supposedly really, really sucks. I had no interest whatsoever in seeing it even before hearing that though.

Saw a screening of True Grit the other night, great movie.

I am pretty pumped for True Grit.

That and The King's Speech are up next for me.

Buzzz is not good.

I say $47M, which is disappointing given how much cash Disney is throwing at it.

The Orangemen are just a rock-solid, consistent winner that hasn't suffered a losing season since 1968-69.
