Sports Review 2014 NFL Draft Derrick Bavol
Derrick Bavol is an NFL prospect that when on the field can wreak havoc and be a quarterback worst nightmare. On paper this kid seems to be unrealistic, runs a forty yard dash that most running backs don run and Bavol is twice the size of them weighing double. When hosted a mini combine at University of Hofstra Last Saturday Bavol put up great numbers in front of scouts. Forty yard dash 4.54, Shuttle 4.11 Bench Press 225,mallsoccer, twenty nine times, Broad Jump 11" and Vertical Jump 40". With these numbers Bavol Impressed many College and even NFL scouts with his performance. The New York Jets were practice at the facilities, and some of the Jets Coaching staff stopped in to see what all the Hype was about. Coach Bob Sutton New York Jets Defensive Back and Linebacker Coach Said " Derrick Bavol is a guy that could fit perfect right now in our playing scheme, he is a great athlete and in pass rush drills he was 120. Bavol Was asked by some coaches do line up in a standup end and drop back into coverage. I was really impressed wit his ability to cover the flats and even drop back and run with the receivers said Coach Sutton, Bavol is Defiantly a guy who will be on our radar when Draft day comes. A transfer from the Citadel and Redshirted his freshman season there coaches have yet to see how he will perform on the field in game time situations. Derrick Bavol still has 3 more years of football eligibly, plenty of time for his stock to rise. Where ever Bavol goes he will be an impact player and a major contributor to the team. NFL Scouts rank Bavol a 1st 4th Round guy based on his combine performance, he still has much to prove on the field. Most scouts think Derrick Bavol is perfect at the weight he is at 258, others would like to see what he could do being 280 and above playing inside three tech.
