Basket went in November. I'll see if I can bring him back from the dead to comment.
Hello.
As Husky said, I did go to Iceland and it was fucking amazing. Flight left Thursday night @ 8, got to Reykjavik at 6am where the hotel I stayed at was more than accommodating to let me check in and pass out. First two days I walked all around the city checking out all the sights, sounds, and bars (Def go to the famous Hot Dog place, most amazing hot dogs ever). Lots of good stuff to see. The night life is crazy, people don't go out until midnight because bars close at 5, no cover anywhere and they (read: beautiful blondes...and they're eveywhere) love tourists/brown/black people. Trust me. The 3rd day I went on the "Golden Circle" tour, it's the most popular that takes you to a sweet waterfall/geysir/and tectonic rock pathway thingy. That night I booked a tour for the Northern Lights, after freezing my ass off for an hour it proved to be worth it because the shit that was happening in the skies was Harry Potter like. Green flashes in the sky moving everywhere. That was seriously the most amazing part of the trip. I also rode some Viking Horses and went to the Blue Lagoon, which I only recommend if you're with a chick. I went right before going to the airport (they have a shuttle that takes you there) and while it is amazing to see (for about 20 min), it's weird when there are couples all around you making out and you have nothing better to do than to stare.
As for expenses, yes it is expensive as shit. I went to two nice restaurants to have some different animals on my palette and that cost me $75 at one place and $85 another. Beers run from $5-$10 depending on where you go, and if you go to the one liquor store and buy shit there, that will set you back a pretty penny. Tours costs range as well, most are around $100 except for the Northern Lights which was $50 However it is without a doubt WORTH IT! Go and you'll have a great time!
I could go on and on so let me know if you have any other questions.
