Huh? Why in the world would you give them a cut of your referral bonus?

I've had two friends get handed $200-300 by the guy who referred them since I started working. I wasn't sure if it was some weird adult tipping rule that I had never heard of. Like tipping the mailman at Christmas.
Why don't you get some facts and get back to me. My best advice to you is shut up.

0% and not a penny more, and it is non-negotiable.

Am I the only one reading this "referral" question and not being able to figure out what exactly is being referred?

I mean, to say "if you refer someone and get a bonus" what the fuck does that actually mean? That you got them a job at your place and got a bonus for it?

if someone says "hey put my name down on the application if you apply", and you get hired, you give them 50% of the bonus.

Yep. I racked up several $1,000-$1,500 referral bonuses while at T-Mobile, with a few $500 checks sprinkled in for good measure.

Absolutely not. Why?

First of all, I'm not allowing any Joe Blow to put my name down as a reference. If my name is attached, it is going to be for someone solid and I'm going to go to bat for them, i.e., put my rep on the line.

They get their reward when they get the job. I wouldn't expect anything in return if the roles were reversed.

If I submit a friends resume, they will give me a bonus if that person is hired and stays at the company for 6 months.

this is what I was picturing in the first place.

just seems like money both of you wouldn't have had otherwise, if the referring person wasn't there in the first place, so why not?

it's like tribute
