I just sent my boss a letter highlighting my 10K drop in pay year over. We had a state of the dealership meeting Friday and it was our best year ever. I asked him to make it my best year ever. God I hope I haven't overestimated my value. haha

The company makes money, and you make them more money, you should get your cut. Good luck, buddy.

Thanks. He did guarantee me the new plan would increase my income, so if his word is good he should compensate me.

Gave my sales manager a copy of the email. Though he cant change it he wholeheartedly agreed with my assessment and wished me luck.

TeeDub, do you miss the golf industry? How is the restaurant bidness treating you?

Congrats. 33% is a nice bump, even if it just for your base.

short answers: no. exceptionally well.

long answers: it may sound phony but I've never looked back at any point in my life. If you aren't happy where you are you are nowhere. I've settled into a schedule where I cook on Mondays and Wednesdays and bartend on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. Days only. I could make 3x what I am making by working nights but I ruled that out when I agreed to return. Things are not well at all at the course I used to work for. When it was established it took $90k to join and when the economy shit the bed that number has steadily decreased, so much so that for this season for $5k you could get an annual membership( with certain restrictions) all the while regular members pay close to $8k in dues. On top of that there are rumors that the owner of the course may cut and run and give it up to highest bidder who could do whatever with the place.

At the end of the day I am making more take home pay and mother nature has nothing to do with my job performance. The last part of that statement really sums up my feelings. You have no idea how hard a job can be when you cannot control the most important aspect that impacts your job.

I thought there were, like, 100 sales persons and then one dude who they went to to present the 'final' offer and that was it. I didn't realize there were multiple layers of management at a dealership.
