The Tigers are fucked now that they lost V-Mart for the year.

The Detroit Tigers and free-agent first baseman Prince Fielder agreed to a nine-year deal worth $214 million, a source confirmed to ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick.

Boras >>>>> everyone else

I have a hard time believing any other club would have come close to those numbers

Have fun paying him $23m a season for years 6-9 when he's putting up .275-30-100 as a DH. In other words, Big Papi numbers.

In years 6-9 the 83 year old owner, Mike Illitch, will likely be dead. He wants to win a world series now. I'm sure Boars leveraged this in his negotiations.
