Right....but the 4/100 is way out of whack. I'm saying, tell me what another team might offer him. 2/25? 3/30? Whatever it is, add a reasonable premium for the "Jeter" factor. And you don't come anywhere near 4/100.

I've heard Francesa say that he might want something like 25mm per year so he's on par with Tex/CC/Arod's annual salary.....but the fact that he wants it doesn't justify it. He isn't anywhere near them as a player, and even the "jeter factor" doesn't bridge the gap. If he gets more than 3/60 or so, it's a joke.

Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the New York Yankees plan on bringing back manager Joe Girardi and give him a raise.

There was speculation most of the late summer and fall abou Girardi's potential candidacy on the north side of Chicago but the Cubs tabbed Mike Quade as the permanent guy for that job earlier this week.

Girardi's managing career began in the National League with the Florida Marlins and he played a large portion of his career with the Cubs, which is why there was a such a strong belief that he'd eventually be a candidate. And he very well may be. Just not anytime soon.
