A very entertaining game that had a little bit of everything. Marchand had two very nice goals and other than the lapses in the defensive end that lead to the 2 St Louis goals the Bruins played a strong game. If that had been Marchand sticking his leg out he'd be in Shanahan's office this morning. Hopefully this is the one to take them out of their funk.
So what is the carry over from the game on Saturday night? Is it going to be a bloodbath tonight? Ottawa has to be pissed, they haven't been able to beat the Bruins all year and even if they had split they'd be in 1st place. I still cringe when seeing the Boychuk hit. I also like the pick ups, even if Rolston is 1000 years old he can still fill the Recchi role. I didn't like when they got rid of him way back when and I'm glad to see him back wearing the spoked B.
I won't be surprised if a new, winning team gives himself (and perhaps the PP) a jolt. Always liked Rolston. Mottau fills the 7/8 role fine. Haven't seen much of lower case z but 2nd in blocked shots is a good attribute.
There wasn't shit out there and GMs held firm. At least nobody else in East got better.
“You’ve been waiting for it for a long time, but you got it. You wanted it, you got it. We’re bringing it home.’’
A shit goal less than a minute after they had tied it up and Thomas should have had it imho. The Bruins took it to the Rangers after being down early and letting up that goal the way they did, lwss than a minute later and with 6+ minutes left in the game was aggravating to watch. The lost fucking weekend. They can snap out of it but losing 3 to the NYR sucks.
