Is Lakey barely making it to 5th inning during the second game of a double header with his team scoring 11 runs a good sign for the playoffs?

Right now I'd rather have Dice K and his Tommy John elbow.
Its pretty fucking sad when you know that he'll be shelled and there is nothing you can do about it but watch Francona continually send him out there because he's being paid an outrageous amount of $$. I'd sit his fat ass down and start fucking Bowden.

Do you really think he's out there because of how much money he makes? If that's the case, Weiland must be getting paid 20 million a year.

They don't have anybody else to run out there. Fact.

Yeah because wasting your 3rd best pitcher in mopup duty as a long reliever makes a lot of sense.

From Verducci. The Sox have been playing AL baseball since 1901, Among all pitchers who have thrown at least 150 innings in a season for the Sox Lackey will be the worst pitcher in more than a century. His ERA, currently at 6.49, Will be the highest in franchise history, ending Jack Lamabe and his 5.89 ERA's 47 year reign at the bottom.

We are watching history, awesome. And Lackey isn't just edging him out either, he's shattering that record. How the fuck does he have 12 wins?

The offense was head, shoulders and nipples ahead of every other team in the majors at one point. That's how. Lackey signing might be the worst in my 15-20 years of following this team. Definitely worse than the JD Drew signing.

I'm going to go with Crawford as the worst signing IMO and give Lackey some credit for caring for his wife more than baseball. The fact is like them or not neither are going anywhere anytime soon.

per Orsillo tonight

Sox have 2nd most runs in baseball in September (granted its skewed by a couple 18 run games)

haven't had a quality start in 14 games. Braves and Phillies get one pretty much every night

what a complete disaster

I give every free agent signing 1 year to adjust to playing in Boston. Lackey has had his. He is by far the worst member of the pitching staff. Also, I heard on 98.5 sometime this week that Lackey is on his way to having the worst starting pitcher season performance in Red Sox history.

Also, crawford went 3-4 last night.

.259 11 55 sucks even given it being an "adjustment year"

But maybe its because I knew Lackey was going to suck the second they signed him and had little hope he would do anything but go 14/15 wins and 5 era

I'm not saying Crawford has been good this year. Shit, I'm not even saying he's been decent. But Lackey has been absolutely abysmal. Nothing good coming from him.
