Just going to a game in person will many times do the trick. The game doesn't lend itself well to TV, especially back several years ago.

I never liked hockey until I started my freshmen year at UAH in '90. We started going to games because it was free for students and that was where all the girls would be. I got hooked on the sport and started following the NHL and somehow became a Quebec fan and have loved it ever since.
