CVS being open on Christmas is a godsend for battery purchase of toys given to the kids by people other than santa.

lug, if some chick from the "club" called you on Christmas Eve with an 8-ball and 750 of Johnny Blue, I doubt for one second you'd tell her no b/c "it's family time."

Most of my family was working......the place my wife went to consisted of her, my daughter, her uncle (85) and her mom (82).

I can't keep any tradition around with this to work with.

You severely underestimate my requirements for a party!

While I was happy to have the weekend to my self, the actual final decision to not go was 100% based on my wife's desire to stay for 4 days.

Well of course any place in New England is feasible to reach in just a few hours. Factor in the Pats game the 80+ Yo's the fact I would have needed two cars...etc and there you have it.

Also keep in mind that it would have required me to leave 2 18 YO boys alone in my house all day with my liquor cabinet.....well I'd make the same choice again.

This entire thread is confusing as shit.

Lug you can't tell anybody here that family values means anything to you...nor can you say that holidays do either.

I mean....its impossible with the way you've lived your life and have posted about it on here.

My immediate family (wife/kids) is all I care about on the holidays......if I still had my Grandparents I'd be there in a minute. But my family consists of exactly 1 married couple (my wife and I) out of 10 siblings, and two divorced parents that can't be in the same town as each other. The holiday ship has sailed for me.

But if its alright with you can I still imagine a day when Norman Rockwell paintings were reenacted every year in most American homes???
