Taxes

Postby SeanT » Thu Feb 03, 2011 11:11 am

I've had someone do them for the past few years but I'm going it solo this time around. Will have federal and 2 states. Thinking of using Turbo Tax. Any bad experiences or other suggestions?

I've always been a fan of HR Block online. Not saying they are the best but I've used them for about 10 or 11 years now and am always happy.

Always use Turbo Tax. I don't own shit though so it's as basic as it gets for me. No issues with them. Always feel like it's expensive when I'm done, but I keep going back b/c they pull all your old information and it's just so easy.

HR Block Online/TT are pretty much the same cost/thing, IMO.

Giggles, I pulled my return from last year and copied the information b/c I wanted to get them done and still didn't have my form.

I know there were going to be delays for certain things because of the last minute tax law extension.

I tried to file mine with Tax act and it keeps rejecting it after a review because it says that my last year's GAI does not match their files. I KNOW I have the right amount. Are they just doing this because they said there would be delays in payments?? I'd hate to have to mail it in.

Usually A goes before the G is all.

And Ronnie, you realize that a tax deduction is different than a credit and "your" coming out in the negative right?

If you're really using your AGI from last year, I don't know why it wouldn't let you efile.

What is "Tax act"? I haven't filed mine yet but using TurboTax in the past, I'm pretty sure there were multiple options for what to use as a PIN, one of which was prior year AGI.

I didn't remember my pin from last year so they asked for last years AGI. I filed ( don't recall who I used last year ) with taxact.com. I guess I'll just file with TurboTax, or at least try to.
