"We are all here tonight to talk about stuff that has absolutely fucking nothing to do with what happened."

Can we please stop talking about "political rhetoric"? It's irrelevant to what happened. Like Columbine, a nutcase showed signs but they were ignored/not treated.

Fucking dog and pony show.

We could be in the second Kerry term right now if he stood up and said "I served in Vietnam. I have proof. If you challenge me, you're an asshole."

He's socially progressive, a foreign policy wiz, and will even let people have guns. He should have been embraced by all parties.

The world doesn't need more guns. And people don't need mansions, yachts, private jets, sports cars, and butlers.

The world needs better familiarity with neighbors and a better understanding of mentally ill people and identifying those within that subset that shouldn't have firearms. But since that requires actual work, let's just beat our chests and say "ban guns" and feel good about ourselves!

Don't forget "let's tone down the rhetoric".

Because that's what killed those people, not a lunatic whose numerous warning signs were missed or ignored.

Blaming heated political discourse for what happened is like blaming the Stones for killing John Lennon.

But I thought expressing your freedom of speech was "the most patriotic thing you can do"? (not sure how exercising one right is more "patriotic" than another). I guess that's only when that speech fits in with your line of thinking.

I voted for Kerry. I was disappointed when he didn't win, and doubly disappointed when he hid in his Beacon Hill house while his supporters had a rally for him in Copley Square.

If we had the 2004 election again, I'd vote Kerry again. And I don't often vote Democrat these days.

Bristol's dating a brother? That's fantastic.

That'd be great if he knocks her up in time for the election.
