MSN – Devon Gluck of Maryland, a student at the University of Delaware, is an incredible good Samaritan: He returned $1,800 dispensed to him by a faulty ATM. Gluck said the on-campus ATM was making strange noises when he approached it to make a withdrawal last month. Suddenly, it dispensed 18 $100 bills, which must have left Gluck looking around to see if he was being taped. After sitting on it for a few days, Gluck returned it and was “thanked” by a bank manager, which seems like cold comfort compared to $1,800. Gluck has restored some of our faith in humanity — hopefully somebody at least bought him a beer.
Get a load of Dudley Do Right up here! Devon Gluck the Good Samaritan just returning all the free money that gets handed to him! Poor Bank of America or Chase almost lost out on 1800 bucks, thank God Devon was there to return it to those nice guys. Bro are you fucking NUTS? Listen I know people will bring up that guy who accidentally got a huge deposit in his bank account, gambled with it then ended up going to jail. I know people will say the ATM has cameras and the cops will probably track you down pretty easily. That you can’t actually keep money you get by mistake. Other people will say it’s all just good karma and it will come back to him in the future. FUCK THAT. If some stupid ATM spits one thousand and eight hundred fucking dollars at me I am shoving it in my pocket and sprinting home/to the mall/to the liquor story/to the casino as fast as humanly possible. Seriously if your first thought is to return a free 1800 bucks you’re not Jewish enough.
