Someone shot us an email last night saying that a group of NC State fans had begun to piece together some more facts about the PJ Hairston case so I figured I’d give the whole “journalism” thing a shot and go straight to the source and boy am I glad I did. You have to take into account that most of the information was dug up by people whose only apparent purpose in life is to literally destroy everything and anything UNC, but as someone who has no stake in this story at all I’m not exaggerating when I say this goes all the way up to the Vice President, of the United States of America. Turns out there’s a bunch of new information on the guy who allegedly (for the rest of the blog assume everything is alleged because I don’t get paid to fact check) gave Hairston the rental car and it also turns out PJ isn’t the only UNC basketball player involved. If you don’t care about any of this now would be a good time to stop reading because the rest of the blog is going to be about this.
Thanks for sticking around. This is Hayden “Fats” Thomas:
He has about 50 different aliases, which could either be due to the fact that he legitimately doesn’t know how to spell his name or that he’s one of the biggest drug dealers/pimps/assorted hoodrat things doers in the Chapel Hill area. Those two things might be related. He’s a convicted felon with multiple drug and guns related offenses. Here’s a picture of Fat’s driveway:
“How could he afford all those cars?” the hypothetical reader in my head just asked. Well, in the past decade he’s worked as a bouncer (including at one of the clubs where a stripper from the Duke lacrosse case danced), party promoter, agent runner, and dental equipment entrepreneur. Also those are rentals because he has an exotic car company but doesn’t own any cars. Guess he’s doing something right. But if you don’t buy into the fact that his income from the past ten years has been the results of 10 years worth of legitimate business ventures, here’s another possibility:
To be totally honest I’m not exactly sure what all of this means. Basically the theory is that he throws a bunch of parties and has a bunch of shell companies in North Carolina to launder drug money through, and he might have other people that use him as a middle man to give benefits to players. According to Fats those parties are the reason that he knows so many athletes at UNC and that awesome club nights they pay for all on their own are why they follow him on Twitter. Or maybe I should say followed because he deleted his account. Because that’s the best way to erase evidence.
So here’s Leslie McDonald admitting a known drug dealer gave him a second phone. The same drug dealer who gave PJ Hairston a car that had a bunch of weed and a gun in it. And he could have gotten away with it too if it wasn’t for those meddling kids giving the entire world literally all the evidence themselves. This is also great because the UNC athletic department claims to monitor all player’s social media presence and missed the part where one of them blatantly admits to an NCAA violation. Good job good effort I guess.
So what does this all mean? I honestly don’t know. There’s so much speculation and information flying around that it’s hard to figure out exactly what the deal is. You have some people saying that Miykael Faulcon, the other kid in the car with Hairston and a player at ECSU is the real person to blame. You have other people saying Hairston was dealing drugs for Fats and that this is just the beginning of a massive cover-up by UNC. I’m sure someone has accused Fats of being behind the marathon bombings by now. I don’t know the truth and at this point I’m not overly invested in it either way. All I know is that things keep getting worse and worse and I don’t see a lot of it having the potential to get explained away. And even if it does this video of Leslie McDonald dancing still exists:
