   From the looks of this defendant I would have to assume that this lawyer is either a public defender or doing pro bono work.  Which makes it even better. I hope this guy is a raging liberal who felt that the system was unfair to minorities and that he was going to champion the cause of the black man.  How'd that work out for ya.

   Liberal or conservative politics usually don't come into play with public defenders. More than likely they are just shitty attorneys trying to make some money because they have few if any real other clients. They get some cash to listen to a story and file some paperwork. Guess the attorney is lucky it wasn't a rape case or he'd be pregnant right now.

   He's definitely a public defender, which means he deals with 30 cases like this a week defending repeat offenders and other people that are generally assholes. He's not the problem here, the problem is that guy getting for his /- fourth felony and then being an ass to the only person that was trying to help him. And I assume it's up there on the felony counts because 15 years is an odd sentence, you don't usually get that for a first or second time offender. And judging by the defendant's surprise, he was expecting less, and got made an example of.
