NEW PALTZ — A SUNY New Paltz freshman faces kidnapping and assault charges after he went on a rampage and briefly took several students hostage in a college residence hall early Tuesday morning. Isaac Doughty, 18, threatened to harm himself and other students with a Japanese katana sword, according to SUNY New Paltz Police Chief David Dugatkin. After Doughty herded several students from the common room of a dormitory suite into the bedroom of that suite, Dugatkin said he was persuaded by campus police to come out alone. But when he did not respond to officers’ orders, the officers used a taser and pepper spray to subdue him, an effort that was “minimally effective,” Dugatkin said. Police were able to finally subdue Doughty. Police believe Doughty was under the influence of an unknown hallucinogen.
Every time I post a story about drugs and say how I don’t really fuck around with drugs that much somebody without fail chimes in and calls me a pussy. Tells me I don’t know what I’m missing and I need to man up and grow a sack and pump myself full of some fucking hardcore narcotics. Shove mushrooms down my throat with 6 lines of coke in my nostrils and a heroin needle hanging out of my veins while funneling bath salts or something. Telling me how it’s such a great feeling and I’m missing out. Well that may be true but I also go to sleep every night in my bed and wake up in the same place nice and refreshed…not standing over 5 of my dorm mates that I’m holding hostage threatening to kill while I cut myself with an ancient Japanese Katana sword with 3 taser barbs hanging out of my skin and a gallon of pepper spray in my eyeballs. So I’m cool with my life thanks.
