There’s the Mike Leach we’ve been missing. You can fire him and ban him from the game as much as you want. Doesn’t mean he won’t eventually storm back and regain his old form. I mean he’s completely right here. This is what it’s like these days. This is what all the Pussification of America stories have amounted to. This situation. If you are “mean” to your players and try to coach them and make them work harder they turn against you and the media says you’re a hardass and the school gets rid of you. If you say everything is great and everyone is working hard and that’s all that matters then you’re an asshole and a sarcastic jerk. Can’t win. Might as well just lock a player in a toolshed and move on the next school at this point.
