   Makes sense if you think about it. When you kick a PAT...it's one point. It's no different than if you go for 2 and the other team picks you off and returns it all the way. They'd score 2 points, not 6.

   ^ not really, so why isn't it 6 points if you are going for a TD and you get a safety.

   ^because the other team can score 6 points if they pick you off/return a fumble for a TD, so they are eligible to score 6 points during the play (even though pick 6s are uncommon). It wouldn't make sense to award the same number of points for sacking the other team's qb in the endzone as actually getting the ball in the endzone yourself. That would defeat the purpose of the point system

   I thought it you blocked a PAT the play was just whistled dead. At least that's the way it is in the NFL.

   maxy college and HS rule is you can block a kick and return it for 1 or interecept/return a fumble for 2...therefore the ball is live. My father was a college ref and just told me this rule last week and i didn't believe him...i watched it live with him last night...crazy shit @livin, hilarious link
