NORMAN, Okla. — The girlfriend of a juvenile accused of burglarizing Oklahoma Sooners football coach Bob Stoops’ home was caught trying to break her boyfriend out of a juvenile detention center. Paige Maurey, 20, was arrested and charged on a felony count of assisting a prisoner to escape, according to an affidavit filed by the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office.
Meghan McCormick, spokeswoman for the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed to ESPN.com that the juvenile who Maurey allegedly attempted to break out was the same one accused of burglarizing Stoops’ home while the family slept two weeks ago. That juvenile and Corey McCarty, 21, were arrested on June 22 and charged with first-degree burglary.
According to the affidavit, the juvenile called Maurey on July 2 from the Alan J. Couch detention center and asked her to help him escape. Maurey, three other male juveniles and one female then got a hedge trimmer and drove together to the detention center. Maurey gave the male juveniles bandanas to conceal their identities, then left to go get gas with the female juvenile, the affidavit said. While Maurey was away, a detention center employee saw someone peeking around the corner of a building inside the fence. Once seen, that subject hopped the fence and ran off, leaving behind the hedge cutters, which the employee found.
LOVE THIS BITCH. Absolute definition of a ride or die chick. Lie, cheat, steal, hide Bob Stoops’ car. Show up to the juvenile detention center in nothing but a bandana and a set of hedge clippers ready to break him out. Just absolutely does not give a single fuck about anything on the planet except her man and his happiness and freedom. We’d all be so lucky to have a down ass bitch like that. Don’t take it for granted bro. This one’s a keeper. Could she have come up with a better plan, one that actually had a chance of success and didn’t end up with her in jail also? Sure, but hindsight is 20/20 and then again we’re talking about Oklahoma.
