LA Times- A dispute over an order at a Hemet Del Taco ended when an employee allegedly stabbed a customer with a knife. Riverside County Sheriff’s Department officials said. Officials said the dispute occurred when a male customer and the employee disagreed over whether the customer’s order had been filled correctly. The argument erupted at 1:50 a.m. Thursday at the restaurant on East Florida Avenue, officials said. The eatery was identified as a Del Taco by the Associated Press. The customer, who was not identified, was stabbed in the abdomen and transported by friends to a local hospital. Officials described his wounds as serious but said he was expected to survive. The suspect, 28-year-old Gabriel Villalba, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He was transported to the Larry Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
Sometimes you have to know when to cut your losses. When the dude at Del Taco pulls out a knife when you tell him that he fucked your order up, that’s when you take a second, step back and realize there’s a zero percent chance he fucked your order up. I get that people like to think that the customer is always right, but that’s bullshit. The customer is always right until a member of the Latin Kings embeds a 4 inch switchblade into your hut. The truth is that you get what you pay for. If I go to the Capital Grille and they screw up my $50 steak I fully expect a heartfelt apology, a new porterhouse and for the hostess to come over and give me blowjob under the table for my troubles because for that kind of money I deserve it. But if I order a 50 cent taco I’m going to take whatever I get and that’s the end of it. I don’t care if they substitute semen for sour cream, at least when everything is said and done I didn’t get shanked in the stomach.
