ESPN – Colin Kaepernick has become a brand worth protecting. At least he thinks so. Colin Kaepernick might as well be the one controlling who profits from the touchdown celebration bearing his name, writes Mike Sando. Blog The San Francisco 49ers quarterback has filed for the trademark “Kaepernicking,” his bicep-kissing act that has swept the West Coast during the team’s postseason run. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office website shows the registration was filed on Jan. 14, and Kaepernick intends to use it on clothing, specifically T-shirts. Kaepernick’s marketing team already has authorized a few small T-shirt companies to use his name and image on their products.
Is this how trademarking works? You can just trademark anything that you ever do? Like Colin Kaepernick can flex his bicep and then trademark that and nobody can ever flex their bicep again without paying him a million dollars? Can I trademark Kmarkoing? Ok just filed. Nobody can sit at their desk with ESPN on their TV, a blog window open, and an Incognito window with Youjizz on it from now on without sending me a check. Don’t even think about it. Next time you even consider beating off during normal work hours log on to PayPal immediately and send me 50 bucks. Open a tab to a Weird News section of a website or laugh at a funny mugshot and it’s $75. Dead serious. If Colin Kaepernick can patent kissing his stupid Bible verse tattooed bicep I’m patenting making a living as a lazy piece of shit. Team Alex Smith for life.
