Daily Mail – Burger King has tonight admitted that it has been selling burgers and Whoppers containing horsemeat despite two weeks of denials. The fast food chain, which has more than 500 UK outlets, had earlier given a series of ‘absolute assurances’ that its products were not involved. However, new tests have revealed these guarantees were incorrect in a revelation that threatens to destroy the trust of customers. The contamination has been going on since at least last May and potentially for up to one year, according to evidence presented to MPs earlier this week. Tonight Burger King abandoned its earlier denials, saying: ‘Four samples recently taken from the Silvercrest plant have shown the presence of very small trace levels of equine DNA.
Do people really think this is going to affect anything? Like do they think it’s going to come ever close to knocking Burger King off the top of the burger pedestal? Ha. Fat chance. Bottom line is The Whopper is the best fast food sandwich in the business. Not even close really. There’s Whopper and then there’s nobody and then there’s everybody else. Like it goes 1) Whopper 2) Whopper Jr. 3) N/A. 4) Fill in whatever you’re going to try and tell me is #1 like an idiot, maybe Big Macs or DQPs or something from Wendys. Sure McD’s and Wendy’s have better fries, and McDonald’s has far and away the best nuggets in the game, and other places have all sorts of fancy sandwiches with crazy toppings. But for a pure hamburger without the bells and whistles Whopper is King. That’s not even my opinion that’s just fact. So combine that with the fact that, if I know people like I think I know people, they don’t let ANYTHING get in the way of them continuing to get fat as fuck. So there’s a little bit of Seabiscuit in my burger patty? Little Secretariat flame broiled on my bun? Oh well. Make it a Large. That motherfucker is delicious.
