Florida Woman Has The Best Response To Her Daughter's School Sending Home An "Opt Out Of The Pledge Of Allegiance" Waiver
Fox5 Atlanta - A Florida man’s reaction to a waiver his niece received at school is gaining a lot of attention.
Last Thursday, Micah Brienen said his niece brought home a Pledge of Allegiance request for her parents to sign and return.
The form reads, “I understand my rights as a parent and I request that my child, noted above, be excused from reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. This request includes standing and placing his/her right hand over his/her heart.”
Brienen’s sister-in-law wasn’t pleased with the form her daughter was given and had the following response in the line that she was supposed to sign.
“This is the dumbest thing I have ever read and I am so ashamed of this.”
…
Not sure why the man is getting the credit all over the internet for the reaction when it was the mom who wrote the response, but regardless. Great response from the Brienen family. An opt-out form for pledging your allegiance to the United States of America? Not on their watch. The dumbest thing ever. Shameful. I mean nobody’s asking you to join the army and go slaughter our enemies here. It’s a simple sign of respect to your country’s flag, the country that’s providing you with those nice schools and education in the first place. If you opt out of that you should opt out of the country and go live somewhere else.
Seriously anyone that signs this thing and sends it back should be put on the terror watch list and have their handwriting analyzed, guarantee it turns up on an ISIS employment form at some point.
