HuffPo- A tweet that caused a seizure has led to an FBI investigation and an arrest. It also exposed a terrifying way people with epilepsy can be attacked online.

The FBI arrested John Rayne Rivello, 29, of Salisbury, Maryland, on Friday on charges of cyberstalking, the agency said in a statement released Friday. Rivello is accused of tweeting a strobing animated image to Kurt Eichenwald of Dallas, a Newsweek political reporter who has written about his epilepsy.

The moving image, also known as a GIF, allegedly included the statement, “You deserve a seizure for your post.” When Eichenwald viewed the tweet, he suffered a seizure.

Eichenwald’s lawyer told The New York Times that Eichenwald was incapacitated for days, lost feeling in his hand and had trouble speaking for several weeks.

And the pussification of America continues. Hey Kurt, you can’t write anti-Trump stories, tell everyone on twitter you have epilepsy, and NOT expect the twitterverse to send you seizure-inducing GIFs. That’s like going to a theme park, telling the tilt-a-whirl operator you have a weak stomach, and then expecting him to slow the ride down just so you don’t yak. You can’t reveal the biggest chink in your armor and expect your opponents not to exploit that; that’s not the world we live in. This is Trump’s America now, where peanut allergies and epilepsy will be targeted! Separate the wheat from the chaff!

On the real though, ever seen someone have a seizure? Pretty scary stuff. Especially if they start foaming at the mouth. In middle school, we had a kid with epilepsy in jazz band who would ALWAYS have seizures if he didn’t take his medicine. And for whatever reason, he would skip his medicine like twice a week. I couldn’t believe it; it was like he wanted the attention (I’m going to hell).  At the same time, he was first chair on piano so when the fits set in, I knew that meant it was my turn to shine. I won’t say I was rooting for him to seize… nor will I say that I sometimes switched his medicine… but I’m not ready to deny it either.
