San Francisco 49er Bruce Miller has been arrested for assault.

Sources with the San Francisco police confirm to KTVU that the 29-year-old fullback was arrested in San Francisco Monday morning.
Miller allegedly tried to check into the Fisherman’s Wharf Marriott Hotel on Sunday night, but was told the hotel was full.

Sources say he returned Monday morning and knocked on one of the guest room doors.

The guest opened the door and informed Miller that he had wrong room.

That’s when Miller allegedly began attacking the guest. The guest’s father, who was also staying in the room, came to his son’s aid, and was also attacked by Miller.

Sources say that man, who is 70-years-old, was punched in the face and suffered broken bones.

This is the kind of tough, gritty, take-no-prisoners, attitude that you expect from your Full Back but not on Labor Day weekend. Take a few days off and unwind, Bruce. There’s no reason to shatter a 70-year-old man’s face first thing in the morning on a Labor Day Monday.

I understand where Bruce is coming from, though. It is beyond frustrating to be traveling and run into a hotel that has no vacancy. Bruce probably had to be up early for practice and just needed to catch some shut-eye. Chip Kelly monitors his player’s sleep so poor Bruce knew that he would be in the dog house when regular season practice kicked off the next day. Can’t risk a poor night of sleep when full backs are always on the 53 man bubble watch this time of year. I’d be frustrated too.

Coming back the next morning to assault a random guest is taking that frustration to a whole new level. If I had to pick the spot where Bruce messed up, I’d say it was coming back the next morning and breaking the bones in an elderly man’s face. Although life expectancy rates are rising, so it’s getting harder to consider a 70-year-old man as elderly. He might have deserved an ass whooping at the Fisherman’s Wharf.
