The Women of the Alley Cat step to the plate

1. If you were consulting a guy on what song to sing to keep his dignity and somewhat impress the ladies what would be your first 3 choices?

Tanea

1. Hangin’ Tough – New Kids on The Block (ha ha)
2. Jessie’s Girl – Rick Springfield
3. Baby Got Back – Sir Mix-a-lot

Liz

1. As Long As You Love Me – Backstreet Boys
2. Jessie’s Girl – Rick Springfield
3. Any song where you can rap and have fun, not think you are Eminem

2. If you could sing a duet with anybody in the world who would it be and why?

Tanea – Ray Charles…He was unbelievable and who wouldn’t want to sing w/ a music legend.

Liz – Lionel Richie…because I want to dance on the ceiling.

3. What’s the best thing about working at Alley Cat?

Tanea – Besides the people I work with, the Alley Cat is a very chill, laid back place with a great atmosphere. Plus it is always fun to hear people who can really sing and even funnier to laugh at those who can’t!

Liz– Not only the people that I work with, but the crowd that comes down to party…

4. How important is the dancing component of a routine during a Karaoke song?

Tanea – If you can sing, I don’t care if you dance or not…but if you can’t carry a tune then you better show me some moves.

Liz– How about this…if you ain’t Michael Jackson, keep it to the lyrics.

5. How would you describe the typical Karaoke crowd?

Tanea – Anybody that can let loose and not take themselves too seriously during karaoke and then have fun the rest of the night once karaoke is over.

Liz – Well we are not a “typical” karaoke bar…Anybody that can come out and let loose and sing a few songs (till 10:30 when karaoke stops Fri/Sat) and then party till 2….that is our typical crowd.
