Ask The Bartender

The Girls of the 6 House step to the dish

The 6 House
28 W Broadway
South Boston, MA 02127
(617) 268-6697

1. What is your opinion on PDA in a bar?

Barbara - It can be cute, but it’s too much when it starts to attract attention from half the bar.

Kristina - Well, most of the time it can be tacky, but there are some occasions where you can't avoid a kiss from a cute guy.

Hillary - There is a big difference between PDA and making out in a bar. Little kisses are cute, anything more should be done behind closed doors.

Courtney - PDA in a bar is fine to a point! There is a fine line between public affection and public obnoxiousness

2. If you had to describe a perfect South Boston Only dream date what would it entail?

Barbara - It would include dinner at the 6 House, of course, and if it’s warm enough, maybe a walk around the beach and castle island.

Kristina - I like a guy who knows how to treat a lady. So the perfect date would have to entail great conversation, drinks, and a nice dinner.

Hillary - Take out from the 6 house and a movie from blockbuster.

Courtney – Ice skating at South Boston MDC rink, bowling at South Boston Bowl, & dinning at the 6 house.

3. If you could drink with anybody at the 6House, who would it be and why?

Barbara - Probably the 6 house staff because they always know how to have a good time.

Kristina - My boss and co-workers, because we always have a good time, and they know how to make a good drink.

Hillary - My regulars. I'm always working when they come in. It would be nice to be able to have a drink with them sometime.

Courtney - The staff at the 6 house are pretty close, so we have all hung out at some point. Why? Because we like to have a good time.

4. Have you ever had to shut somebody off at the bar? What does somebody have to do to cross the line?

Barbara - Couple of times, usually when the persons safety becomes in issue. It your job as a bartender to make sure your customer is stable enough when he/she leaves your bar.

Kristina – Yes, the Irish know how to drink. Well, I think that crossing the line could be anything from a lewd statement to an unwanted grope. Most men know when they're going too far - and if a guy has to ask, then they're more than likely crossing the line.

Hillary - Yes. For falling off his chair.

Courtney – Get rude, rowdy, argumentative, or if they just hade to much to drink.

5. If you had to convince somebody to hang out at the 6House what would you say?

Barbara - The Food speaks for itself. DELICIOUS. Great, friendly staff and the parties are always a blast!

Kristina – I'd say that we serve great food, cheap stiff drinks, and of course I'll be there ;)

Hillary - I would tell them the food is great and the place gets crazy later in the night. And we have the cutest staff of course!!

Courtney - The food is great; the staff is fun & good looking.
